Family Ministry Scholarship Fund Application
The Family Ministry Scholarship Fund exists to help encourage and support students of SBC in their efforts to attain a secondary education, and especially to support students who want to prepare for ministry. The administration of the fund will be the responsibility of the Family Ministry Committee.
Eligibility: The Applicant Must Meet The Following Criteria
1. The student must attend a Bible college or an accredited post-secondary institution, including college and vocational training centers.
2. Current involvement in a ministry of Soldotna Bible Chapel and/or a gospel ministry associated with Soldotna Bible Chapel is required to receive initial scholarship funds.
3. Scholarship funds will be awarded based primarily on the student’s involvement in a gospel ministry on campus and/or the student’s involvement in a local (if away from home) church whose doctrinal statement is in agreement with that of Soldotna Bible Chapel. Involvement in mandatory ministry activities in a Christian college (chapel attendance, dorm-wide Bible studies, etc.) is not sufficient in and of itself to meet this requirement. Applicants also need to maintain a 2.5 GPA to be eligible for funding.
4. Students must agree to communicate each semester with a designated Family Ministry Committee member or elder of SBC to allow encouragement and growth regarding their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Amount Awarded
The initial scholarship will be $1000 per school year. Subsequent scholarship amounts will be awarded at the discretion of the Family Ministry.
Procedure
Student applicants need to complete a scholarship application each year. Scholarship applications will be reviewed and determined upon by the Family Ministry Committee.
The deadline for the scholarship application is June 15.
